Thanks for checking us out! We want to keep your shears sharp, so you can keep your clients looking even sharper. I had my first encounter with sharpening back in Culinary Arts College in '94. We were taught to sharpen our knifes by hand on wet stones. I refined this technique over the years. Eventually I left the kitchen and went into the trades. This is where I worked all kinds of equipment from small appliances up to commercial HVAC/R systems. With this experience, it allows me to properly maintain, diagnosis and repair all different types of equipment including clippers, dryers and any other equipment that you might have. Then about 5 years ago, my wife, who is a left handed groomer, couldn't find anyone to sharpen her grooming shears properly caused me to get bit by the sharpening bug again! I sought out as much info that I could find on the shears & sharpening and studied away. After lots of practice with my son, Ryan. We decided to take the next steps and train with experienced sharpeners. We trained with Bonnie from Bonika Shears and got factory certified. Then with Dennis Brooks of Hamaguri. We learned so much about this beautiful art form, and thats when we decided to start Chicago Sharp! A sharpening and repair service in Chicago along with supplies and top quality shears for sale.
